Ada-Lovelace-Project

Ada-Lovelace-Project

The Ada-Lovelace-Project (ALP) is a Rhineland-Palatinate initiative to promote girls and young women in the STEM subjects - mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.

The Ada-Lovelace-Project has set itself the goal of motivating girls and women to study STEM subjects and professions. The focus is on equal opportunities, empowerment and breaking down role stereotypes. Through role models and practical offers, we make STEM tangible and inspire young women - according to the motto: “What I want, I can do!”

The project is named after Ada Countess of Lovelace (1815-1852), who wrote the first programs for operating calculating machines over 150 years ago, demonstrating great courage at a time when women were forbidden from entering universities, academies and their libraries.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Health, the Ministry of Family, Women, Culture and Integration and the European Social Fund Plus.
