IBTS e.V.

The Tourism/Travel Management department founded the Institute of Business Travel Studies (IBTS) e.V in 2007, the first legally independent institute for business travel management to exist at a German university.

To this end, the department was supported by various high-level industry representatives who then became members of the newly founded association.

Members of the IBTS are mainly companies which are part of the Verband Deutsches Reisemanagement e.V. (German Business Travel Association, VDR), as well as professors, staff members and students at the Hochschule Worms.
Some of the co-opting companies involved in the IBTS supply teachers and guest speakers for the degree programmes run by the Tourism/Travel Management department.

The objective of the Institute of Business Travel Studies (IBTS) e. V. is to encourage teaching and research in the area of business travel management, as well as to act as an intermediary between universities and companies.

The institute also aims to promote and implement business travel management across a multitude of disciplines in the academic world, on a national and international scale, by way of academic projects, as well as further education and training.
