Declaration of Independence/ Declaration on Honor

For Written Work (homework or seminar papers, take-home examinations, project work and elaborations) according to § 14 RPO as well as for the Bachelor's and Master's Thesis according to § 18 RPO, the student has to enclose a written declaration when handing in the work that the work has been written independently and that only the stated sources and aids have been used.

For this purpose, use the concrete templates for the declaration of independence/ Declaration on Honor from the department/the field of study.
Ideally, you should contact the person responsible for the topic.

Submitting a thesis

Final theses have to be handed in according to the exam regulations in digital form as a rule. You can do that by using one of the following ways:

  • USB flash drive or
  • CD or
  • via E-Mail

Submitting a printed copy is not necessary, but it is possible to agree with your professor upon handing in a printed copy additionally

  • To submit on a USB flash drive or CD, proceed as follows:

    • Add your name and matriculation number to the file names.
    • Save the thesis in PDF format and in DOCX format (or a different format if the thesis is not available in DOCX) on one of the above media.
    • Generate a declaration on honour, print it, sign it, scan the signed version and save this scan on the flash drive.
    • Alternately, you can sign the document with your digital signature or a previously scanned one to avoid having to reprint and scan.
    • Put the CD or USB flash drive in an envelope and enclose a short covering letter specifying whether the thesis was written in collaboration with a company and may therefore contain sensitive data which would require a blocking notice.
    • Note the relevant drop-in date on the envelope and drop it in the external mailbox of the Examination Office at the M-building before the deadline. You can also hand the envelope in during the opening hours of our office. If you are unable to come to the Worms University of Applied Sciences to hand in your thesis, you can also send the envelope by post. In this event, however, please choose a delivery method that allows tracking.
  • To submit by email, proceed as follows:

    • Add your name and matriculation number to the file names.
    • Attach your thesis in PDF format or in DOCX format (or a different format if the thesis is not available in DOCX) to the email.
    • Alternatively, if the documents are too large (larger than 9 MB), you have to upload them to a cloud and copy the link to the shared cloud folder into the email.
The university provides you with cloud services - here.
    • Generate a declaration on honour, print it, sign it, scan the signed version and attach this scan to the email as well or deposit it in the cloud folder.
    • Alternately, you can sign the document with your digital signature or a previously scanned one to avoid having to reprint and scan.
    • In the email, please also specify whether the thesis was written in collaboration with a company and may therefore contain sensitive data which would require a blocking note.
    • Send the email to abschlussarbeiten@hs-worms.de before the deadline. Please use the e-mail-account of UAS Worms for sending the e-mail.

General information: Submission of the final thesis as well as any oral defense (colloquium) represents a test result which requires that you be enrolled in the current semester.
