Once a year, the Tourism/Travel Management department at the Hochschule Worms organises a “Flying Taster Day” at Worms airport. This opportunity is open to students in the third semester of the English-language degree programme “Aviation Management” and they will have the chance to get first-hand flying experience by taking a round trip over the rooftops of the city of the Nibelungen. For budding aviation managers, this event perfectly complements the business administration component of their degree programme.
Students can choose between flying in a Robinson R44 helicopter or a Cessna 182 light aircraft. Both models are also used as part of the pilot training scheme involved in the “Aviation Management and Piloting – dual” cooperative degree programme. Students who take part on this course attend university to gain knowledge in the field of business administration and also obtain a commercial pilot licence.
During the aerial tour, pilots tell students about the aeronautical procedures performed in the cockpit, as well as the aircraft’s technical instruments.
This event is made possible thanks to the generosity of EIAB gGmbH and Flugplatz Worms GmbH.
