The Hochschule Worms was organizing the biennial Health Day onTuesday, May 14, 2024. This time under the motto “Sustainable. For you. For the world.", which was open to all members of the university as well as external interested parties.

From 11am to 3pm, visitors were informed and inspired by lectures, hands-on activities and information stands about preventive healthcare, exercise, healthy and sustainable nutrition and much more.

  • 11:00am l Greeting l Chancellor Kerstin Henzel and Prof. Dr. Marie-Luise Sessler l Campus

    The chancellor of Hochschule Worms, Ms Kerstin Henzel, and organizer, Prof. Dr. Marie-Luise Sessler, opened the health day 2024 at 11am.

  • 11:30am l Planetary Health l Marischa Fast l Room A 125

    Marischa Fast from the KLUG German Alliance for Climate Change and Health e. V. started the lecture series on this year's Health Day at 11.30am. Her exciting lecture on the topic of planetary health covered the following content: 

    - What is planetary health anyway? 
    - What are acute problems and effects? (Focus: climate change) 
    - Mutual consideration of human health – planetary health 
    - What can I do to promote personal and planetary health? (Focus: Sustainable nutrition)

  • 11:30am l Solo Swing Dance l Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Heinemann l S-Building

    In this hour, Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Heinemann introduced the participants to the world of solo swing dance. The motto was "try something new and be part of this active event".

    The lecture by Prof. Dr. habil Jan Drengner provided exciting insights into the current initiatives and progress at Hochschule Worms on the way to a more sustainable future. It showed opportunities for all university members to actively engage in greater sustainability on our campus.

  • 1:00pm l Yoga l Ursula Fischer l S-Building

    Our employee, Ms. Ursula Fischer, offered a great yoga taster class for beginners in the S-building. Yoga can be integrated as a motivating start to the working day, as an active lunch break or to relax after work. Everyone was welcome, no previous experience was required!

  • 2:00pm l Sustainable Nutrition l Simone Hobrecker l Room A 125

    Sustainable nutrition – nutrient-rich, (climate-) healthy and delicious! How can you eat sustainable, healthy and without nutritional deficiencies? The nutritionist, Simone Hobrecker, answered these question to interested listeners in her approximately 50-minute lecture.

    She provided an overview of current studies on climate, health and nutrition. But it wasn't just theoretical – the audience also received simple implementation tips for everyday work and study life.

  • Health Day 2022

    The Health Day 2022 under the motto 'Health 4.0 - prevent and stay active' took place on May 31 and was organized for the first time in cooperation with the Workplace Health Management Office of the City of Worms. The program of the University of Worms was embedded in the “Health Week of the City of Worms” and invited all interested visitors to lectures, workshops and films. What Health 4.0 means in a working world in the digital age was illustrated by specialist presentations, film contributions and hands-on activities, which provided the basis for food for thought and discussions.

  • Digital Health Week by TK 2022

    Digital Health Week by TK from February 14 to 18, 2022
    The event was aimed at employees of universities, colleges, and institutes Individual advice and interactive workshops were offered - from taking a break to exercise, back coaching and immune radar, to stress type identification and brain food, to yoga flow and staying fit while doing home office.

     

  • Digital Health Day with the AOK 2021

    The challenge of working from home was the topic of the digital health day, which was held on May 18, 2021 in cooperation with the AOK. It was about ergonomics, self-management and healthy breaks. The 'Live Balance' presentation, for example, focused on strengthening individual mental health and enhancing inner balance.

     

  • Digital Health Day with the TK 2020

    The digital health day, which was held in collaboration with TK on November 24, 2020, was influenced by the pandemic and carried the motto 'Focus on health / 2nd corona wave - well armed through the winter'.   • Health and Care Day 2019

    With the new facilities, completely new design and information offers could be implemented. Thanks to the cooperation between the city and the university, the variety of offerings was expanded to include an exciting series of lectures. During and after the lectures, the contributors at the information stands were ready to answer any questions.

     

    The Health and Care Day developed out of the regional care conference. The Regional care conference is an association of all those active in the field of care and health. The goal is to improve services in the care and health sector. More...

  • Health Day 2016

    On May 31, 2016, it was that time oft the year again, the Health Day took over campus life at our university. This year's motto was appropriately “Fit in studies and work”. Stress factors during studies and everyday work can creep in slowly and unnoticed, so it is important to know in advance what to look out for in order to quickly recognize unhealthy changes. The medical director of the Rheinhessen specialist clinic in Alzey, Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Anke Brockhaus-Dumke, kicked off this informative day as keynote speaker with her presentation “Prevention and early detection of mental disorders in the context of studies and the workplace”.
