Nadine Buck

My Name is Nadine Buck and I’m happy to introduce myself as a scholarship student of the Germany bursary.

I am currently in the 6th semester of my International Management degree at the Hochschule Worms. After 3 semesters in Worms, a semester abroad and a mandatory internship, my degree is rapidly coming to an end.

Before starting my degree, I had already completed a training course to become a financial assistant at a local Sparkasse. I then went on to gain a year’s worth of professional experience before I finally opted to do a degree. If you have already started earning your own money, and if you are very attached to your home town for family reasons, the decision to start studying again is not an easy one. However, my family’s support, combined with the opportunity of expanding my knowledge, made the decision easier for me in the end - something I am very happy about to this day. Studying at the Hochschule Worms is a decision I have never regretted.

During the holidays, and, at the start, even during the semester, I worked in order to fund my studies. This meant that I had to commute between Worms and my hometown almost every week. Furthermore, I have a very close relationship with my grandparents who are in need of care. The Germany bursary now means that I have the opportunity, as well as the necessary freedom, to use the time I have left after I finish studying in order to support my family. What’s more, I can also use the Germany bursary to relieve my family’s financial burden. This has enabled me to have enough independence to complete an optional internship and discover an additional range of responsibilities in doing so.

However, I think that the most beneficial aspect of the Germany bursary is the additional motivation you get from receiving this sponsorship. The bursary strengthened my belief in my decision to study and validated the path I had chosen. Additionally, the bursary has given me the chance to get in touch with sponsors from the sectors of industry and economics and, as such, I can continue to improve my future possibilities.

I would like to take the opportunity to express my warmest thanks to the Alumni-Club Worms e.V. and the Hochschule Worms sponsorship society. This bursary enables me to fully concentrate on my studies, learn new things and network at the same time. Furthermore, I would like to encourage other students to apply for the bursary. Don’t let the chance of being awarded the Germany bursary slip away - try your luck!
